SLO County Small Business Bids for Nationwide Grant Sponsored by Chase and LivingSocial

June 11, 2012 - PRLog -- Local marketing solutions company, Go Smart Solutions, is competing with thousands of other small businesses around the country for their piece of a $3 million grant. “Mission: Small Business”, a grant program sponsored by Chase and LivingSocial and supported by the U.S Chamber of Commerce, seeks to “provide small businesses with resources needed to make a positive impact on their business”.

The program started with $1 million designated to the Grant pool, promising that at least four small businesses would be awarded $250,000 each. Chase and LivingSocial pledged to donate an additional $5 for every person who logged in via Facebook to show support, up to $3 million (12 grants total), and has already reached that milestone. Go Smart Solutions, a mostly family-run small business in Grover Beach that develops practical online marketing solutions, has made their bid for the Grant with the goal of growing their business and providing much needed jobs to the SLO County community.

“If we are awarded the Grant, our very first priority will be to hire additional Sales and
Marketing staff for expanding our business and, in turn, create additional job opportunities for our community as soon as possible”, said Misty Lackie, founder and CEO of Go Smart Solutions.

The firm plans to hire up to 10 local employees before one years’ time if awarded the Grant, with the goal of continuing a growth trajectory that would open up dozens to hundreds of jobs to SLO County residents.

All Grant applicants are required to submit an essay which displays why their business
is unique, a plan for utilizing the Grant to grow their business, and how the business is
involved with its community. Go Smart Solutions has consistently made a positive impact on the community, offering its services to local professionals for free while in beta and donating to local schools.

In order to make it to the final round, small businesses must receive at least 250 votes.
