International Ecological Diving Festival "Keepers of the Planet"

June 9, 2012 - PRLog -- At the initiative of the Russians, the divers of world decided to unite in the form of regular international environmental diving festivals "Keepers of the Planet" for the protection of the hydrosphere of the Earth from an impending ecological disaster, the first of which will be held in September 2012 in Egypt


Contamination of the World Ocean over the past decade has taken catastrophic proportions. This has greatly contributed to the widespread erroneous view of the unlimited possibilities of ocean water to cleanse itself. Every year in the ocean gets more than 19 million tons of crude oil and about 20% of its area is covered with oil film. It is estimated that even 15 million tons of oil enough to cover the oil film of the Atlantic and Arctic oceans. At present it is impossible to find a place in the World Ocean with no trace of human activity. Urgent measures to protect the Earth's hydrosphere. Decided to contribute to the divers. Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the Festival Sergey Artemenko said that "the aim of the organizers and participants of the festival - to develop and present the concept of the public to protect the Earth's hydrosphere. The first festival to be held in September 2012 in Egypt. It will be attended by representatives of at least 10 countries. ".
