June 8, 2012 - PRLog -- Loosely based on the author’s own British ancestry, including his maternal great-great-great-great grandmother Elizabeth, The House of Cavendish – Preston Chamade is a wonderful tale that dramatizes the loves and lives of ordinary people caught up in brutal warfare.

In the time of Jacobite rebellion, a Scottish army marches south to depose Protestant King George from the throne of England to supplant him with Catholic James Stuart of Scotland. The two armies meet in Preston for three bloody days of fighting. The Cavendish family leaves London for their ancestral home in Derbyshire, where James and Charles Cavendish visit the town of Preston in the midst of bloody battle. James and Charles are taken prisoner, and are in danger of being executed as spies, until fate intervenes.

Following the defeat of the Jacobites, Charles’s daughter, Elizabeth, inherits a fortune from her aunt, but then elopes with a man below her station. The author’s deft weaving of fact and fiction make this stirring novel a must-read adventure.
