Super business idea: how to make big money from the unwanted remains of the bankrupt com

Owining to the original marketing concept, the last meter of the bancrupt company will be a truly golden and at the same time former company workers may earn on its history more than during their entire career.

June 8, 2012 - PRLog -- The super creative project  started in the Estonian town of Narva. The group of local enthusiasts acquired the last meters of fabric from the famous European textile company “Krenholm manufacture” and produced the book out of this fabric called  «The last meters of Krenholm», telling the story of this company.

The intriguing project concept is published on the website www.lastmeters.com. One square meter of fabric is a one book. In total 1000 meters of fabric were acquired. Project developers are speaking about the great historical heritage left by “Krenholm manufacture” and emanate from the fact that with each sold meter, the value of remaining fabric is increasing. Starting price of the book is 320 EUR. The price of each following book (meter) is increased by 2 EUR. Therefore the price of the very last meter of “Krenholm manufacture” will cost 2318 EUR, and total profit will be equal to 1 300 000 EUR. If the developers’ concept will work, the project will set the new absolute record in the history of the world textile industry – 700 EUR investment in the fabric batch will be increased 1800 times(!) in its market value as a finished product.

However project developers claiming that it is not all about the profit. First and foremost they wanted to contribute to preserving the memory  of the legendary textile factory which recently turned 155 years and to allow former “Krenholm manufacture” workers earn extra money. A greeting letter of one of the former workers is attached to the book. For this letter the worker is reimbursed. The reimbursement value depends on the length of service and number of published greeting letters. In certain conditions, the former Krenholm worker can earn from this project more than he earned throughout his/her entire career at the company. To certain extent the project restoring historical justice, as it allows former “Krenholm manufacture” workers to gain from Narva industrial historical heritage. Their general wage at Krenholm was a very low – just 320 EUR per month, the same as the price of the first copy of “Last meters” book.

As a remainder, Krenholm manufacture was founded by a German entrepreneur Ludwig Knoop in 1857 and throughout many years it was a flagship of the European and world textile industry. Krenholm achieved major success in 1912 and during 1970-1980 period, when its compact factories employed more than 10000 workers. In 1996 the young Estonian state privatised Krenholm manufacture to Swedish company Boras Wafveri AB. As a result, huge Krenholm factories with its full technological cycle (from cotton processing to textile products output), perfected technological process and fully operated machinery were sold for a mere 17,6 mln. EUR.  However, Swedes could not use this favourable situation to its advantage and could not compete with the Chinese producers. After 9 years “Krenholm manufacture” was announced its bankruptcy. Just before the bankruptcy, Swedish owners pulled out the company highly valued historical property to its private possession.

The detailed information on Krenholm history can be found on the project website www.lastmeters.com. It uncovers the amazing historical facts: 150 years the US was major supplier of raw materials, Germans were gastarbeiters and worked in the Eastern Europe, textile was exported to China, and the leading industrial company was in Estonia. This website offers to purchase «The last meters of Krenholm» book, which itself is a true masterpiece of industrial heritage. Along with the fabric, leather, wood and brick parts were used for its production. The latter two materials are partially from the demolished remains of Krenholm buildings. The best Estonian craftsmen were involved in the book production and the most original methods of materials processing were used to create a truly unique book construction.

In the future project developers are planning to widen the list of the “last legendary items”. Such brands as Nokia, American Apparel and Saab may be used as according to the authoritative source http://247wallst.com/ these brands might disappear in the future.
