Money Management, Finances and ADHD

Do you have problems with impulse spending, can't put together a personal budget, have late fees racking up? Do you have ADHD? Read my latest blog for some helpful information.

June 7, 2012 - PRLog -- Finances and money management are common areas where people with ADHD struggle. Examples of this are:
•racking up significant credit card debt
•destroying credit by missing payments
•not being able to balance a checkbook or create a budget
•running through cash in their wallets

Maybe you don't have ADHD but you have some of these struggles, read on.

  Why does this happen?
1.
Impulsive spending - acting in the moment instead of taking into account the bigger picture, especially if you use credit cards.

2.Memory - at the moment not remembering how much is going in and how much is going out.
3.Disorganization - not having a balanced checkbook, workable budget, and a system for keeping important records like tax information.
4.Filling in the holes - dribbling away money in small ways to make up for not looking ahead. An example is buying your lunch because you forgot to fix it that morning or didn't leave enough time to fix it.
