June 7, 2012 - PRLog -- This is a banner year for Southern Oaks Plantation, a special events venue in Eastern New Orleans.  On June 1, The Times-Picayune published the results of its 2012 Readers’ Choice Awards, in which people voted on their favorite bars, restaurants, and entertainment venues in 101 different categories.  This year, they selected Southern Oaks Plantation the #1 “Place to Get Married” in the New Orleans area.

Being voted the best wedding venue caps off what has already been a remarkable 2012 for Southern Oaks Plantation.  This the second consecutive year the business received both a WeddingWire “Bride’s Choice Award” and a “Best of Weddings” pick by The Knot, two of the wedding industry’s most prestigious honors.  In addition, the national publication Brides Magazine selected Southern Oaks Plantation as a top venue in its June 2012 issue.  The article, “On Location,” features “The people and places you need to know to plan a wedding in New Orleans,” and describes Southern Oaks Plantation as the ideal choice for a majestic Southern wedding.

Bobby Asaro, owner and president of Southern Oaks Plantation, attributes these recent accolades to his company’s enthusiastic group of wedding professionals:  “There is no secret formula for what has made Southern Oaks so successful.  It is our incredible team of employees who are dedicated to making dreams come true.”  Currently celebrating its 25th anniversary, Southern Oaks Plantation is owned by Sue and Bobby Asaro, who started the business in January 1987.  “We are delighted all these years of hard work are being recognized in such a wonderful way by the readers of the Times-Picayune.  Thank you for making us number one!”
