Two-Story Modular Building for City of Long Beach to Meet LEED Gold

June 7, 2012 - PRLog -- Long Beach, CA – Commercial Mobile Systems, in collaboration with Silver Creek Industries, is pleased to announce the completion of a 16,000-square foot administrative building for Long Beach Gas and Oil in Long Beach, California. The city’s first two-story modular building designed to meet LEED Gold, was specifically modeled to enhance high-performance and provide significant energy savings.

Managed by Chris Parker of Commercial Mobile Systems, the construction of the building, consisting of 23 modules, took place in Silver Creek’s factory in Perris, California, and was completed and installed in less than 5 months. Some of its distinctive features include exposed open ceilings and clerestory with skylights maximizing natural daylighting, steel clear span trusses presenting exceptional strength and earthquake protection, a storefront curtain wall high-performing system, and a welcoming terrace / balcony for the building occupants.
