Luciano Colonna, SafeGames founder, said that the SafeGames Polska partnership of more than 20 Polish organizations is prepared for the estimated 500,000 EURO 2012 visitors. “The partners will be working overtime to respond to the needs of those in Poland during EURO 2012, an include Poland's National Bureau for Drug Prevention and its National AIDS Centre, SafeGames’ teams of outreach workers and Superheroes (including Captain Condom and Methadone Man) will provide the public with SafeKits containing condoms, lubricant and other incentives, as well as informational cards and referrals to local service providers and resources in the four host cities. In addition, the website www.safegamespolska.com will offer a wide range of local resources and contacts to help inform and connect visitors with health and safety services, informational videos, downloads, and information on SafeGames’ partners. Tomasz Malkuszewski, Director of the Social AIDS Committee, SafeGames Polka’s lead organization, believes the project is aligned with Poland’s leadership role in HIV/AIDS prevention and drug policy. “Poland is paving the way for some of its most marginalised community members, including people who use drugs, are in the sex trade, are living with HIV/AIDS, and those with mental health issues and other concerns, to be treated with respect and dignity.” End
