Struggling with Hair Loss and Divorce Stress

A study at Case Western Reserve School of Medicine showed that, aside from genetics, the loss of a spouse was the biggest factor used to predict hair loss in women. The study looked at 84 female identical twins to determine what lifestyle factors most affected hair loss patterns.
In a divorce, your life is thrown into chaos. You lose your partner, your financial status might change drastically, and you may even be forced to relocate. There may also be issues related to child custody, which can be very emotional. The stress hormones released during these trying times can cause changes in the normal growth and dormancy pattern of the hair shaft and follicle.

The loss of a healthy head of hair can be particularly difficult for a woman following divorce.
