June 5, 2012 - PRLog -- (LITTLETON, CO) – In an ongoing effort to raise awareness about the plight of the endangered Giant Panda, Pandas International has again partnered with Accessory Power. From August 1, 2011 through March 31, 2012, Accessory Power had set aside 5% of net profits of the GOgroove Panda Pal Portable Speaker towards its goal to plant one complete acre of bamboo seedlings.  Accessory Power has surpassed that goal and will present Pandas International with an amount that will cover one complete acre of bamboo seedlings along with an additional 730 clumps of bamboo seedlings to be used at the Wolong Panda Center in Sichuan Province, China. “It’s been so gratifying to know that our partnership with Pandas International has been successful in raising awareness for these beautiful creatures.   We will continue to support Pandas International in their efforts to educate the public” said Karla Echeverria of Accessory Power.

The bamboo replanting project is in response to the devastating consequences of the 2008 earthquake and a perfect storm of natural disasters since then including flooding, mud slides and unusually heavy snows which have also helped to destroy the Pandas’ main food source.

Due to the success of their previous fundraising effort, Accessory Power will be starting a new fundraising campaign.  From June through October 2012, Accessory Power will be donating 5% of their net profits to Pandas International each time a GOgroove Panda Pal Speaker is sold. Funds raised will be used to qmffc purchase critically needed medical equipment used by veterinarians to treat Pandas both in captivity and in the wild.

Pandas International is a registered nonprofit organization dedicated to the preservation of the Giant Panda and the preservation and enrichment of its habitat. With approximately 1,600 pandas remaining in the wild, the 11 year old foundation concentrates on educating the public about  the enormous challenges facing one of the most endangered and beloved species on the planet, and raising money for medical and veterinary supplies  for captive Pandas.
“We’re extremely fortunate to have a relationship with a company like Accessory Power,” said Pandas International director Suzanne Braden. “Corporate responsibility is often just rhetoric in the yearly report but for Accessory Power it marks them as a genuinely concerned company whose commitment to sustainable outcomes is extraordinary.”

Accessory Power has also included information about Pandas International within its Panda Pal packaging encouraging owners to visit the Pandas International website, for more ways to support the organization and its mission.
