By: Never the Bride
June 5, 2012 - PRLog -- Never the Bride, featuring the powerful vocals of Nikki Lamborn and the incredible keyboards of Catherine Feeney, appear in a rare series of NYC dates, with four dates at New York City’s famed Don’t Tell Mama and another at Bowery Electric.

The two have gained  international acclaim and rarely bring their music live to the United States, but have made a special exception this June to share their rare brand of indescribable rock and roll.  Famed musicians everywhere have tried.  Witness:

’Best rock voice since Janis Joplin, and I know what I’m talking about, I knew Janis” - Roger Daltrey

‘Inspirational’ - Dame Shirley Bassey

‘You’re luminous’ - Carlos Santana

‘These women exude their souls in their music and lyrics’ - Blues in Britain Magazine

The two, talented on their own, have played with an awe-inspiring who’s who of music.

They’ve played with their friend Roger Daltrey, taken the stage at Glastonbury Music Festival with Dame Shirley Bassey, and toured with Peter Frampton, Alice Cooper, Paul Rogers and shared stages with many iconic legends including Elton John, Robert Plant, Chaka Khan and Bryan Adams.

They have also played with the British Rock Symphony Orchestra, and recently rocked a party at the House of Lords in London. Cher came to their gig in Malibu.

BBC Radio 2 considers Never The Bride ‘Absolutely brilliant’. London-based, these immensely talented women have written and recorded six albums to date, and their latest CD and DVD, “Live at The Stables Theatre” is scheduled for release in June 2012.

Their recording of “The Living Tree’ was slipped by a friend of theirs into the gym bag of Dame Shirley Bassey in Monaco. Shirley listened to it, adored it – and recorded it! ‘The Living Tree’, a Top 40 hit for Bassey, is on her album ‘Get The Party Started’ which was produced by Never The Bride in 2007, released in the USA in 2008.

Nikki Lamborn, an intense singer with radiant charisma, is magnificently accompanied by Catherine Feeney, gifted on piano, keyboard and guitar. The two have written, recorded and performed together for over 25 years.

Nikki is a native of Bristol, England and Catherine is from Glasgow, Scotland. They met onstage and have been songwriting and performing partners ever since. Together they have created music with Catherine’s stunning arrangements, put together shows, and toured internationally,

Never The Bride is noted for their ballsy style of musicianship and vocal powerhouse approach. They will be performing an intimate set at legendary Manhattan venue Don’t Tell Mama on Wednesday, June 6; Thursday, June 7; Monday June 11 & Tuesday, June 12 at 7;30 PM. Tickets: $15 plus 2-drink minimum. Cash only. Reservations: (212) 757-0788 and http://www.donttellmama.com.

This is a contrast to Never The Bride playing London’s Wembley Arena to a audience of 15,000 and in Nikki’s home town they performed to 23,000 at Bristol City Football Stadium.

Never The Bride is tailoring their show for the intimacy of the 60-seat Don’t Tell Mama, with Nikki wrapping her soulful vocals around songs including ballads “Lilac Wine”, “Only Women Bleed” written by Alice Cooper and Dick Wagner , who loves their version, “This Is A Man’s World”, Also showcased will be Never The Bride's originals including “The Living Tree”, “If I Counted To Ten” and “Mind That Child” (dedicated to Amy Winehouse).

And expect their version of 'Summertime"-- so scorching it could melt asphalt. You’ve never heard it done this way before!

"Nikki Lamborn has real stage mastery and tremendous power. The audience were spellbound’ says Blues Matters, a UK publication. And while she has made a career out of being a rock singer admired by British rock royalty such as Roger Daltrey, she can turn her talent to singing many styles including intimate ballads.

Nikki says, " My father was a drummer in a big band, I was brought up on, Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughan, Dinah Washington, Judy Garland and all the Jazz greats. When I started out singing I would include some of their songs in my sets. Who knows what’s gonna happen on the night at DTM? We are lucky enough to be able to just pull something out of the hat!” Its never dull with never The Bride!

Never The Bride will be in New York on a US tour which includes performing at New Jersey Pride (June 3) and Long Island Pride (June 9). & The Bowery Electric ,(June 13th 7.30pm) Don't Tell Mama, which has hosted many UK performers, but few with such established stellar credits! is already getting reservations from Never The Bride fans in New York and across the US who have been eagerly awaiting their performance on these shores.

Never The Bride have previously been seen in New York City when they showcased their album, released by Universal Records. Robert Plant and Meatloaf came to show support. Never The Bride also spent three months recording songs for their Universal album at Electric Lady Land; they know New York well and are looking forward to coming back to perform here.

Nikki Lamborn and Catherine Feeney are veterans of the rock, blues and jazz scene, countless music festivals and many private parties throughout Europe. They have a monthly residency at the legendary London jazz and blues venue, The Bull's Head, and at The Pheasantry, on King's Road in Chelsea, which has seen its share of English rock stars through its history.

“You can listen to our lyrics and people know we’ve had a pretty shitty love life…we can’t possibly get married, or we’d have to change the name of our band!” comments Nikki. Catherine quips, "not that we've been short of offers"

Never The Bride is a genuinely exciting act. Catch their intense and memorable appearance at Don't Tell Mama in June!
