Vanessa Mbedzi is crowned Miss Zimbabwe USA 2012 in Raleigh, North Carolina.

June 5, 2012 - PRLog -- Vanessa Mbedzi from Zimbabwe is a 20 year old Business student at Morgan State University in Baltimore, Maryland. Vanessa entered her first beauty pageant contest at the age of 8 and after entering a couple more pageants, her passion for modeling grew. "I had an amazing experience at the Miss Zimbabwe USA 2012 pageant, it helped me build my confidence and self-esteem and now I want to be all I am capable of becoming."

"Zimbabwe is one of the more popular countries in Africa which is blessed with immense natural beauty, it is a country that raised me and am proud to represent the country as Miss Zimbabwe USA 2012. My dream is to make a positive change in children's lives. I will take advantage of this title by giving back to the less fortunate, assist with education for children in Zimbabwe, children with HIV/AIDS and those suffering from poverty. During the year of my reign I want to work with as many organizations as I can, to make a difference not only to children but also the youth in Zimbabwe. I will raise the Zimbabwean flag higher because I am proud to represent this beautiful nation."

During the pageant and fashion show, Vanessa worked with Leah African Designs and Yambuka. She also received a modeling contract with internationally acclaimed IHI Modeling agency.The Miss Zimbabwe pageants for 2012 continue with Miss Zimbabwe Canada on Saturday July 21st in Toronto and Miss Zimbabwe Ireland on Saturday, August 4th in Dublin.
