Position Title: Medical Record Data Entry ‐ Certification Required
Time Requirements: Part Time (20‐30 hrs/week)
Immediate Supervisor: Operations Manager
Work Location: Skillman, NJ
Salary: hourly (1099), no benefits

Brief Description: Joining a small team of similarly trained individuals, the Medical Record Data Entry person will collect, scan and digitize protected health information (PHI) from Zweena clients.

Attention to detail and customer service are critical in coordinating and executing the collection and data input of our client’s medical records.

The ideal candidate must have great computer and organization skills, and good communication skills for speaking with individuals and doctors/medical records departments. People who have been successful in this position have had medical coding experience from doctors’ offices and/or medical records experience in healthcare provider spaces (Hospitals/Doctors).

They have successfully completed one of the following certifications:

•   American Medical Billing Association (AMBA) CMRS exam and become a Certified Medical Reimbursement Specialist (CMRS)

•   American Academy of Professional Coder's (AAPC) Certified Professional Coder's (CPC or CPC‐H) board exam

•   American Health Information Management Association's (CCS or CCS‐P) board exam

Responsibilities:

   Report to/work with Zweena Client Clinical Coordinator (RN) to evaluate and improve ways for Zweena to be most efficient and effective in the work of creating the Zweena Health Record.

   Collect, Scan, and enter PHI for uploading into Zweena Health Record application:

o   Certify to HIPAA/Zweena policies and procedures.
o   Conduct one‐on‐one client communication encounters, either on the phone, live, or via secure e‐mail, for the purpose of gathering all required information.
o   Communicate effectively with client medical/dental providers, labs, pharmacies, or insurance companies to collect or verify client specific information.

   Demonstrate a complete understanding of the state and federal guidelines for patient records, HIPAA, and other such privacy standards, and be willing to meet or surpass standards currently set forth

   Perform quality reviews based on Zweena standards to ensure patient satisfaction and report these results monthly to the CEO and management team.

Attributes:

   Medical records knowledge and experience with appropriate certification

o   Ability to transpose data from paper to a computer data base program with no errors
o   Ability to work independently and remain focused on the task and goal
o   Ability to conduct oneself with complete discretion, both in and out of the office, so as to ensure complete confidentiality with respect to patient identities and medical history

   Collaboratively approach all activities with all team members, with product quality and patient satisfaction as the continuing goal. Actively contribute to the morale and teamwork of the staff and facility and always presenting a positive attitude and patient‐minded vision.

   Ability to apply creativity in helping to develop policies and standards, product attributes, or customer support activities where none exist

Qualifications:

   BS degree in Science or Health Management preferred
   Current certification as referenced above
   Practical working knowledge of Medical Records (2+ years)
   Good computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Office 2007, among others)
   Good healthcare experience with a passion for customer service
   Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
   Ability to work with a variety of customers, clients, lawyers, and other healthcare providers in a diplomatic fashion
