Indispensability of developed cold chain for a prosperous future

June 4, 2012 - PRLog -- Globalization has connected countries together, but according to estimates by WHO (World Health Organization) due to lack of proper cold chain management 50% of the global vaccine for lyophilised and 25% for liquid vaccines are wasted. On the other hand, in developing countries more than 40% of the food losses occur at post harvest and processing levels.

Cold chain is a concern for every industry in every GCC country.  Every company has to guarantee the storage condition during transportation. Acknowledging the importance of an accomplished cold chain management, the Cold Chain 2012 - Optimization for Food and Pharma will inaugurate this year in Dubai on 2-3 October.  During this summit industry experts from around the globe will share their views on how the success of food and pharma industry is highly dependent on well managed cold chain supply system.

Organized in association with the Supply Chain and Logistics Group (SCLG) and Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT), this conference promises insightful sessions, thorough case studies and interactive discussions to mention a few how cold chain is involved in everyone's lives, impact of Kyoto protocol on existing equipments and change programme in adopting standards in cold chain. Speakers from SIPCO, Pfizer Gulf, Engro Foods, Mc Donalds and a number of other notable organizations will share their expert views on trends currently shaping the logistics industry.

Spanning over two days, this summit gives the participants an opportunity to explore what is today's focus in the cold chain business and assess the current state of the cold chain infrastructure in different regions.
