Follow on Google News | Monarch Dance presents TestimonyOn Friday, June 8th through Sunday, June 10th, Monarch Dance will present the final show of their season, Testimony, at Christ Church Neighborhood House, 20 North American Street, Philadelphia, PA 19106.
Testimony is a journey through the human condition as told by Tabatha Robinson-Scott. In this full-length dance concert, each piece explores daily interactions we all have with the people around us as, personal relationships, and with society as a whole. Performed by 14 dancers, you will be taken on a visually challenging, yet innovative journey of passion, betrayal, suffering, insanity and faith. This body of work pushes boundaries and offers insight to taking the next step towards being a better person, to testify to your own truths. Tabatha’s unique Afro-Contemporary traditional movement style holds as the template for storytelling of her own experiences and those that influence her work everyday. The Monarch Dance Company began in January 2000 under the direction of Tabatha Robinson-Scott in Philadelphia, PA. During the first years of the dance company, it established itself as an Afro-Contemporary dance company with technical dancers and innovative choreography. Currently based just outside of Philadelphia in Allentown, PA, Monarch maintains a strong presence in both the Philadelphia Dance community and the Lehigh Valley. Under Tabatha’s direction, Monarch has hosted a number of artistic events including the Degas and the Dance Performance with the Philadelphia Museum of Art; Female Persuasions I & II; and performances at the CEC, Arts Bank, Temple University and The Lion Theater in Philadelphia.
