Follow on Google News | Find Government Funding with Now LearningNow Learning's new feature helps students find out if they are eligible for government funding and which funding options are available to help them obtain higher education qualifications.
By: Now Learning Now Learning is an online education portal that specialises in promoting study opportunities in Australia. Now, in addition to offering TAFE, VET and undergraduate and postgraduate courses, it also helps students find out if they’re eligible for either partial of full funding to help them obtain their qualifications. The feature is easy to use. All students need are their personal details (no address and mobile numbers are optional), state and status (citizen or permanent resident). Students also need to specify whether they are currently in secondary school and, if not, what other qualifications, if any, they have obtained. Options include high school, certificate, diploma, undergraduate and postgraduate degree. If students have completed certificate courses, they will need to specify which ones, e.g. Cert II, III or IV, and provide the exact name, e.g. Certificate IV in Occupational Health and Safety. The funding options available include: • Austudy Payment – for students who are older than 25 years old and are studying full time. Funding for full-time apprenticeships is also available. • Local Skills Partnerships – for those studying essential skills in Victoria. • Fares Allowance – to help cover travel costs for students who receive Austudy, Abstudy, Youth Allowance or Pensioner Education Supplement. Now Learning aims to promote education in Australia, and to this end it will continue to add features that make higher education more accessible to the population at large.
