Portland's First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) will welcome its first female Senior Minister in the church's 133-year history, when Rev. Amy Piatt begins her ministry June 1, 2012.

PORTLAND, OR- Portland's First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) will welcome its first female Senior Minister in the church's 133-year history, when Rev. Amy Piatt begins her ministry June 1, 2012.
Rev. Amy Piatt is a graduate of Brite Divinity School, Texas Christian University where she was a Walker Preaching fellow. She and her husband, author and speaker, Christian Piatt co-founded Milagro (Spanish for Miracle) Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Pueblo, CO in 2004.
The Piatts co-authored MySpace to Sacred Space in 2007, a book about young adult spirituality. Their ministry focuses around shared story, healing spiritual woundedness and social justice.
Amy will serve FCC’s Senior Minister. Christian will be on staff as the Director of Growth and Development. The Piatts have two children. Their son, Mattias (8) is a skateboarder in the second grade, and daughter, Zoe (3) enjoys singing and looks forward to starting iqfop preschool in the fall.
Since 1879, FCC has served Portland's diverse downtown community.
First Christian is a historic congregation in the heart of the Rose City. The membership represents the diversity of the surrounding metropolitan area with many members coming from other religious traditions.
