May 30, 2012 - PRLog -- ROCHESTER HILLS, MI (MAY 29, 2012) – Jonas Jerebko (Detroit Pistons, #33) is hosting his inaugural summer basketball camp, and in celebration is offering full scholarships to our Michigan kids who are unable to attend due to financial difficulty.

“There are some children who never receive the opportunity to play a team sport. A sport cannot fill the void of where a mom or dad should be, but the elements of team can grow a child strong in spite of his or her situation,” Jonas Jerebeko #33 for Detroit Pistons.

The summer camp will be held at Rochester Adams High School from June 18th – June 21st and is open to both boys and girls, ages 7 to 15 yrs. Jonas Jerebko will be in attendance the entire camp, as well as appearances by additional NBA players, elite athletic trainers and nutritionists. JJ Basketball Camp is open to players of all skill levels and cost $200 per day camper. Register online at: http://www.jjbasketballcamp.com

Scholarship contest is simple – we’re sponsoring kids who really need it. Please consider the youth in your community and help them apply. Video submissions are strongly recommended; we would love to bring awareness to each kid’s story in our community.

“The Detroit Pistons know that there is a great need in this state for the support of youth sports,” said Heather Collart, Community Relations Manager for the Detroit Pistons. “It’s always tremendous when one of our athletes choose to work within Michigan on their own time.” Submit scholarship applications online at: http://www.jjbasketballcamp.com/scholarships/

Jonas Jerebko was selected in the 2009 NBA Draft by the Detroit Pistons and has solidified a 4-‐yr. contract to stay in Detroit. Jerebko’s game of hustle and determination has created a fan tradition of Viking helmets and bandanas in “Jerebko Row” for points scored during games. Jerebko retains 10 caps with the Sweden national basketball team. St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and inner-‐city youth efforts include JJ’s charitable involvements.
