Midas Mount and EVS Unveil the SnapFocus at Cine Gear 2012
The SnapFocus by Midas Mount, a revolutionary new follow focus system that allows filmmakers to capture high production value at a low cost, will be on display at the EVS booth at Cine Gear.
May 29, 2012 - PRLog -- CULVER CITY, CA - The 2012 Cine Gear Expo will take place in Los Angeles, CA from June 1st to June 3rd at The Studios at Paramount. Midas Mount Camera Support Systems and EVS will be in attendance with the revolutionary SnapFocus follow focus system. Allowing filmmakers to compose their shots and pull focus at the same time, the SnapFocus makes shooting cinematic images easy with a patent-pending system of levers and cables.
“The SnapFocus empowers independent filmmakers to pull off Hollywood production value on a shoestring budget,” said Brandon David Cole, founder of Midas Mount and director of several independent feature films. “It gives the average filmmaker or videographer the capability of an entire camera crew, letting them focus on the fly and turning them into a cinematic one man band.”
The SnapFocus will be available starting this Wednesday, May 29th only on Kickstarter and only for 30 days starting at $399. The entrepreneur decided to use the Kickstarter platform to avoid selling out control of his product and brand to venture capital interests and chose this week for the release because of the Cine Gear Expo. “Cine Gear is the event where all the real working professionals check out the latest filmmaking gear,” said Cole, “and we are excited to let those filmmakers get a first look at the SnapFocus there.”
EVS in Glendale, CA was the first camera shop and rental house to pick up the Midas Mount Skaterail Slider system over a year ago and the relationship between the two brands has been a good fit. “EVS has been invaluable in terms of lending us credibility and providing feedback from their filmmaker customers about our gear.” Cole states. “And where our motto is ‘By indie filmmakers, for indie filmmakers’ I like to think of EVS as the camera shop and rental house by filmmakers for filmmakers.”
Stop by the EVS booth at Cine Gear (s233) to check out the new SnapFocus by Midas Mount and enter to win a Midas Mount Skaterail Slider. On Friday, the SnapFocus will also be available for filmmakers to demo on the EVS soundstage from 11-5 with a live band, free food and drinks and other filmmaking tools from EVS on display. Filmmaker footage from that event shot with the SnapFocus will be turned into a music video. To order the SnapFocus on Kickstarter, go to http://www.MidasMount.com/
