May 29, 2012 - PRLog -- Former estate agent and mum of one Danielle Pedley has put her wedding day on hold so she can pursue the career of her dreams by completing her training as a hair stylist.

The 33 years old Prestwich woman is enrolled at the Nicky Oliver Hair Academy in Oldham Street, Manchester where she has been studying for an NVQ in Hairdressing.

Danielle had always dreamed of becoming a hairdresser since being a little girl living in Nottingham. She still remembers her Nana taking her to visit the family hairdresser Olga, who she adored.

However, when Danielle, who now lives with her partner Steve and their six year old daughter Katie, got better exam results than expected at school she carried on with further education and ended up working as a successful Estate Agent.

“The money was extremely useful, especially as we were saving for our wedding and to buy our first home together,” explained Danielle. “Steve’s job brought us to Manchester and I got a job in retail but I never felt fulfilled and still yearned to be a hairdresser.”

“So, when I heard about celebrity hairdresser Nicky Oliver’s Hair Academy and how I could fast track through the training, I decided to delay the wedding and use our savings to sign-up for NVQ level 2 in Hairdressing.   I absolutely loved the course, so much in fact that I decided to stay on and take NVQ Level 3 too!”

Now that she has completed the courses Danielle is looking for a position in a salon in the area and ultimately wants to work on a movie set, stage production or any really creative projects.

“From the moment I started my training with Nicky Oliver I felt so happy and motivated. I was like a changed person. Of course it has been hard financially but I would advise anyone who isn’t happy in their job, to take the leap and follow their dream”.

Nicky Oliver said: “Danielle has done really well in the Academy and, in my opinion, has a bright future in the hairdressing profession ahead of her.”
