VNA HealthCare Receives $50,000 Grant from CHEFA to Assist with Meals on Wheels

May 29, 2012 - PRLog -- The grant will allow the agency to deliver approximately 5,000 additional meals to those who need assistance with paying for meals.  

The donation was presented to Ellen Rothberg, President and CEO, VNA HealthCare by Michael Morris, Assistant Director, Connecticut Health and Educational Facilities Authority.      

“CHEFA is very pleased to be supporting VNA HealthCare and is committed to helping those in need in the communities where we serve,” said Morris.  “Through this grant, we are hopeful that more residents in the greater Hartford and Waterbury areas will receive quality home delivered nutritious meals, regardless of age or disability status.”

“This grant will provide about 5,000 home delivered, nutritious meals to over 200 individuals in need.  Such a partnership of public and private dollars will help ease Connecticut’s pangs of hunger and give our neighbors a better chance of healthy, productive lives,” Rothberg stated.
