Miss Kentucky United States 2012 Supports Great Strides for Cystic Fibrosis
Andrea Kimberlin, Miss Kentucky Untied States 2012, supported the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation in their Great Strides walk on May 19, 2012.
Great Strides: Taking Steps to Cure Cystic Fibrosis is the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation's largest national fundraising event. Over $38 million dollars was raised in 2011 by the Great Strides walks nationwide to help find a cure for Cystic Fibrosis.
Kimberlin stated, "My mother has Cystic Fibrosis and I am a carrier of the genetic defect. This means I may be unable to have children if it means I will pass on the defective gene."
The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation is non-profit, donor-supported leader in the search for a cure for cystic fibrosis and is a leader in funding research for cystic fibrosis cures.
Continued Kimberlin, "My mom is everything in the world to me, it is because of her that I am still alive after years of un-diagnosed ADHD and many other issues. She means so much to me and I don’t want to lose her. "
