Miss South Carolina United States 2012 Supports The ExperienceTour

May 25, 2012 - PRLog -- On any given day, you can find most teenagers doing typical things like playing video games, maybe working a part time job, or playing sports.  But a group of very special teens from Charlotte, NC have a higher calling.

The Experience, a youth group from Christ Lutheran Church in Charlotte, have devoted their time to pulling together a show they will take on the road in June.  The group of over 50 teens sing, do drama, and literally tell the story of God's love for His children.  They will be traveling all over Florida, Georgia and South Carolina in hopes to raise a large sum of money.  But the story doesn't stop there.

The money The Experience raises will be donated to The Sandbox, a non-profit organization in Charlotte that helps families of children with life threatening illness.  Their main focus is to put on their second annual prom for these patients.  The prom, An Evening of Believing, will be held on September 28, 2012 at the Bank of America Founders Hall in Uptown Charlotte.  

Not only does The Sandbox host the prom, but they get everything the teens will need to have the most special night of their lives.  Thousands of gowns, shoes and jewelry are collected in order to outfit the girls.  Tuxedos are being donated for the boys.  The teens will be pampered and primped all day the day of the prom at the Aveda Institute.  And the list goes on.

Enter, Chelsea Gregory, Miss South Carolina United States 2012.  Chelsea is a Goodwill Ambassador for The Sandbox and has been instrumental in collecting over 300 gowns for the organization through her pageant connections.  As an Ambassador, Chelsea attended The Experience Tour Send Off Party at Big View Diner in Ballantyne.  There, Chelsea signed autographs, spoke to the kids and created numerous photo ops.  There was a silent auction, special cupcakes baked by the teens that were sold for $5 each.  And $10 tickets were needed to get in the door.  

The send off was one of the first of many events through the summer that Chelsea will be appearing at.  This event in particular was very special and if it is any indication of how things will go for The Sandbox and An Evening of Believing, the prom should be a huge hit!
