Restaurant Owner to Shatter Most Expensive Hot Dog World Record

May 25, 2012 - PRLog -- – Capitol Dawg in Sacramento is ready to make history as it will attempt to break the official Guinness World Record for selling the most expensive hot dog in the world.

Mike Brown, owner of Capitol Dawg wants to bring the record back to the USA, coming out of a great American holiday and heading into hot dog season.

The “California Capitol City Dawg”, as it will be known, will feature an 18” ¾ lb. premium all beef frank specially made in Chicago; Moose cheese from Sweden considered one of the most expensive and rare in the world; white truffle butter  (spread and grilled ) onto a specially made focaccia roll; whole grain mustard from France; and a New Hampshire all natural bacon that is marinated in maple syrup.

The record-breaking hot dog will be priced at a reasonable $145.49.  “I firmly believe we will break the record with a one of a kind original hot dog, that not only looks the part, but tastes every bit the part.” said Mr. Brown.

Capitol Dawg has developed a community wide event where Mr. Brown will attempt to break the Guinness official world record on Thursday, May 31st at 1:30pm at 1226 20th Street in Midtown, Sacramento, California.  A portion of the proceeds will benefit Shriners Hospital for children.

“The Shriners Hospital for Children Northern California is located in Sacramento, and we are all very fortunate to have this wonderful gift to our kids located right here in our city,” explains Mr. Brown.

A Guinness World Records adjudicator will be at the event to verify the record and issue a GWR certificate.
