iVentureCapital Invests in Farbflut Entertainment

May 23, 2012 - PRLog -- iVentureCapital GmbH acquires a majority interest in Farbflut Entertainment GmbH. Hamburg-based start-up Farbflut Entertainment (www.farbflut.com) is the developer and publisher of the online game “Bumrise” (www.bumrise.com) which is currently available as free-to-play title in nine languages in over 30 countries and the game “Knastvögel” (www.knastvoegel.de). The strategic investment in Farbflut Entertainment allows iVentureCapital’s (www.iventurecapital.com) experienced Internet entrepreneurs to actively assist the young company, particularly in developing optimal marketing for its games. The transaction price was not disclosed.

As a strategic investor, iVentureCapital aims to work closely together with promising games industry start-ups. This distinguishes the Hamburg-based company from other, more traditional venture capital firms. Michael Reul, co-founder and Senior Partner at iVentureCapital, comments on the new partnership: “By investing in Farbflut Entertainment we are getting involved in an exciting new business that is well-positioned both domestically and internationally with two attractive IPs. According to Farbflut Entertainment co-founder, Marius Follert, the collaboration “will allow us to concentrate more strongly on our core competences: developing satirical, provocative online games with a sociocritical background that appeal to millions of players around the world. iVentureCapital gives us access to a network of unmatched expertise, which will open up entirely new strategic options for us.”

Apart from Farbflut Entertainment, iVentureCapital has previously invested in BillingPartner (www.billingpartner.com), TrafficCaptain (www.trafficcaptain.com)  and Infernum (www.infernum.com). iVentureCapital is currently working on additional investment deals in the games sector. Its focus is on start-up companies that have begun establishing a successful track record. This includes developers of browser or mobile games, as well as gaming portals, affiliate and ad programs.
