May 22, 2012 - PRLog -- "The Sound" brings together hundreds of Christian musicians from all denominations and backgrounds for 50-hour-long event in the heart of Las Vegas.

Las Vegas, NV -- Pastors, leaders, musicians, and singers from all over the Las Vegas valley will come together for The Sound, a 50-hour straight worship gathering over Memorial Day weekend in the heart of Las Vegas. The event will take place at the Neonopolis Entertainment center, an open-air shopping center and entertainment venue on the corner of Fremont Street and Las Vegas Boulevard, in full view of the public. The event will feature hundreds of Las Vegas worship artists and music teams from churches all across Las Vegas delivering 50-hours of nonstop music and worship from 7pm Friday (May 25) to 9pm on Sunday (May 27).

Pastors and leaders from churches all over the Las Vegas valley will be focused on unity and mutual respect during and after the event. "Unity is something that the Las Vegas Christian community has failed to grasp for a long time" says Michael Leyde, worship pastor at the International Church of Las Vegas (http://www.iclv.com). "While we all may not agree on everything, we can agree on two things: Jesus is lord and He deserves worship in Las Vegas." Leyde is pushing for unity even after the event, saying that all the included worship leaders and pastors have been cultivating relationship beyond just planning for the weekend's events.

"We're not going to be able to go unnoticed" says Zack Wechsler, lead pastor of The Encounter Community Church (http://www.encounterlv.com) in Henderson. "We're not interested in making a polarizing political or social statement, we just want to release the sound of heaven over the city of Las Vegas." With another music festival happening on the opposite end of Fremont street and thousands of additional tourists downtown for the holiday weekend, there will be no shortage of people to hear the sound that this weekend will bring.

On playing music between 2am and 6am, Las Vegas worship leader Ron Gollner had this to say: "In a city that never sleeps, we're lifting up a worship that never stops."
