May 22, 2012 - PRLog -- Coconut Creek, FL – Kaufman Lynn Construction has begun work on a new 24,500 square foot, two-story replacement Public Works building.  The new facility will provide offices for the Public Works administration, engineering and staff, Police Department records storage and staff and will house the City’s Emergency Operations Center as well as a consolidated Regional 911 Dispatch Center.

Unlike the original building, the new Public Works Building is designed to withstand winds of up to 155 mph for a hurricane hardened facility to house emergency operations which was an important factor in the decision to replace the original facility.

The new building has been designed to Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) standards and is expected to achieve LEED Silver certification upon completion, scheduled for January 30, 2013.

South Florida based Kaufman Lynn Construction is a 23 year-old, full-service construction manager and general contractor providing services for a wide variety of public and private sectors throughout Florida, including schools, universities and colleges, municipal, healthcare, county clubs, faith-based, cultural, retail, and commercial.
