Follow on Google News | Sun-Times: Soccer pro Josha Krueger leaves a lasting impression on local athletesJosha Krueger was recently profiled in the Chicago Sun-Times in a story about her sports career and leaving a lasting impression on local athletes.
By: Kru Strength + Fitness In 2000, Krueger helped lead the Chicago Cobras to a W-League National Championship. After relocating by way of the WUSA draft, Krueger helped the Boston Renegades capture their own National Championship. With Boston, Krueger was awarded the league’s prestigious “Defender of the Year” accolade. Previous to her pro career, Krueger was a four-year varsity athlete at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. There, she lead the UWM Panthers to their first NCAA national tournament in decades and made them a veritable force in collegiate women’s soccer. Currently, Krueger stays active in Chicago’s fitness community as a personal trainer and owner of KRU Strength + Fitness, located in the Andersonville neighborhood on Chicago’s North Side. Krueger holds many fitness accreditations including the Certified Strength and Conditioning Certificate (NSCA-CSCS) and Certified Sports Nutrition Consultant (AFPA). Krueger is also a certified USA Weightlifting Coach. Krueger recently launched her new blog on the Tribune Corp’s ChicagoNow.com. Her blog, “Josha’s KRU Way to Strength & Fitness” is written with a focus on everyday fitness, diet, personal motivation and exercise technique. "I try to help everybody I work with at any fitness level learn how to achieve their physical fitness goals with intense programming and effective workouts," Krueger said. The new blog is an extension of her work with both athletes and first-time fitness clients.
