The exhibition is a based on a second look at the images taken during a 10 day, 3792km Australian road trip between Whitsunday Shire, North Queensland and The Dandenong Ranges, Victoria in December 2009. The first look resulted in the highly successful "Mileage - Images from the Road", exhibited at Gallery Red, Glebe, in August 2011. The 19 new images in the exhibition are once again moody, mysterious and perhaps even magical toned black and white landscapes of Australia's East Coast. They are presented as 12" x 18" archival Giclée prints on 18" x 24" Hahnemuhle Bamboo Paper, a fine art stock made from 90 percent bamboo, 10 percent cotton rag, and are for sale in a limited edition of 25 each. As a gesture of support and thanks to the amazing country that inspired this exhibition, fifteen percent of sales from the prints will be donated to Lock The Gate Alliance. Matthew Syres is a Sydney based commercial, fine art, stock and documentary wedding photographer with a focus on the environment and social justice issues.
