McCumber Daniels Announces Its 2012 Pennsylvania Rising Star

Mary Beth Davis is an associate at McCumber Daniels and practices at the firm’s Philadelphia area office.   Ms. Davis focuses her practice in civil defense litigation.  She has defended non-profit corporations, mental health facilities, hospitals, and nursing homes in professional liability, medical malpractice, premises liability, and general liability cases.  Ms. Davis has also represented commercial retail stores in products liability and negligence actions.  Ms. Davis is the Chair of the 2012 Women’s Forum for the Claims & Litigation Management Alliance.  She also served as a Co-Chair for the 2011 Women’s Forum for the CLM.  In 2010-2012, she was selected by her peers as a “Rising Star” by Pennsylvania Super Lawyers.  Ms. Davis is admitted to practice in both Pennsylvania and New Jersey and is also admitted to the U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Pennsylvania.

The Rising Star list is compiled through a statewide nomination process and independent research on the candidates.  Only 2.5% of Pennsylvania attorneys are named Rising Stars.  The selections for this esteemed list are made by the research team at Super Lawyers which is a service of the Thomson Reuters, Legal division.  Each year, the research team at Super Lawyers undertakes a rigorous multi-phase selection process that includes a statewide survey of lawyers, independent evaluation of candidates by the attorney-led research staff, a peer review of candidates by practice area, and a good-standing and disciplinary check.  The list will be mailed to attorneys in Pennsylvania and to the ABA-accredited law school libraries.  In addition, this list will be also appearing in the June 2012 issue of Philadelphia magazine.
