Amour Genesis Hosts Workshop at ACE Tech Girl’s Lock-In Event

May 17, 2012 - PRLog -- Amour Genesis will hold a beauty and self-esteem workshop for female students at the “A Sleepover for Success” event at ACE Tech Charter High School. The event will take place on Friday, May 18, 2012. The students will return to school in the evening for an overnight stay to participate in several planned activities and workshops.

The Amour Genesis brand not only caters to women but also teen girls. The brand’s mission is to inspire future female leaders to continue to love themselves and be self-confident despite the harsh, mixed messages that society portrays towards beauty, sexuality and image. “As a mentor and influential figure for teens, I couldn't help but be involved in the ACE Tech Girls Lock-in. I'm really looking forward to helping these young women find themselves through my signature "Amour Genesis" workshop on beauty, empowerment and self-esteem,” said Genesis A. Emery, Founder of Amour Genesis. In addition to the workshop, Amour Genesis will also donate items for the gift bags.

Co-Founder of NowYouKnowEvents.com, Katie Cahnmann is ACE Tech’s Social Support Coordinator. She has been working at the school for 5 years and provides social emotional support to over 500 students. She organized the lock-in event last year for the female students and wanted to make it even larger this year by bringing in some of Chicago’s most influential women and role models like Genesis Emery. The girls will enjoy several workshops discussing important topics such as: dating, sex/STDs, violence, hygiene, body image and etiquette. They will also get to participate in several fun activities like makeup lessons, sports, cooking and exercising. The event will be educational and fun but most importantly, a chance to show teen girls positive, successful women in their community.
