You need real people to get real traffic

One of the big problems I see when people come to me for help with their traffic is that they have been chasing the wrong kind of traffic. They see that someone says they can "get 1 million visitors next month" through some software. Well, maybe it works, maybe it doesn't. But who cares if you get a million visitors if they are all robots or people clicking for pennies or automatic popups.

And if it is spam or mass twitter or fake Facebook - those visits don't count - those people don't know you and don't care about what you are selling. I mean, think about it, when you get some spam link in your twitter account, do you stay on the page more than 1/2 a second? Well, the other people who are getting spam links aren't either!

It is too easy for people to focus on "more traffic" instead of focusing on real people.

To get real people, you have to create real content, and promote that real content online - primarily focusing on content marketing, SEO, that kind of thing.

For example, with your blog, writing a new post each day about "why am I here"

Every day. And write a blog post to submit to EzineArticles each day about "why am I here"

And linking to your blog each day from there.

And create a new Facebook page (instead of using yours) for the "why am I here" site.

Imagine if you were to target real people in that way, genuinely providing great content that people want to read. Why write articles if you are just trying to get some Google robot to see you? Robots don't buy. Sometimes people complain to me that article marketing doesn't work. Then I see their articles (or lack thereof). If you wouldn't buy from your article, why would you expect anyone else on earth? Other web surfers aren't as dumb as you might think that they are!

Think of places where people in YOUR niche hang out. Where do YOU hang out? Where do YOU find answers when you need them? That is likely the same place your own buyers might come from.

Do YOU buy lots of things off of popups? Then your niche buyers probably aren't either!

I know this is really repeating myself here a bit, but people aren't telling you this. They are trying to sell you traffic generation programs. You don't need much traffic if you have the right traffic and you know how to convert people to buyers once they join your list.
