Community Led Entrepreneurship Program Hosts Launch Event

May 16, 2012 - PRLog -- The official announcement and launch of Grow Blue Springs was the culmination of several months of work from members of the Blue Springs EDC, area investors, and business leaders in development of a program specifically designed to reach aspiring entrepreneurs and connect them with resources that will encourage them to start their business in Blue Springs, Missouri.

Grow Blue Springs is an interactive program that includes education, mentors, business coaching, social media collaboration, investor programs, and events all designed to drive an aspiring entrepreneur from idea to revenue generation while connecting them with the local community. Grow Blue Springs is based on a successful program in Kansas City called StartKC. In just under two years in operation, StartKC has assisted over 300 entrepreneurs in connecting and starting new businesses.

"Grow Blue Springs is one of our key economic development initiatives for the next few years here in our community." shared Blue Springs EDC President Brien Starner with the group of enthusiastic attendees at the launch event. Grow Blue Springs is a local led program where community business leaders assume the leadership of the program and take on mentor roles with the entrepreneurs entering the Grow Blue Springs program. These business leaders completed their training last week with the Kansas City based entrepreneurship consultancy Evis Thrive. The online platform for the Grow Blue Springs program is licensed through Evis Thrive.
