-- Xander Demos, the fret master and metal shredder from Pittsburgh, PA, and his band will be on the bill at two upcoming charity concert festivals, both scheduled for July. The first event will be a benefit for St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital in Hagerstown, MD. The weekend-long festival will take place the weekend of July 7-8, 2012. Twenty bands on two stages are scheduled, with Xander performing on Sunday, July 8th at 2:30pm. Other acts include Silvertung and Loving The Lie. The second event will be a benefit for Rock For Life, called Gigaroo. Held at Iselin ball field in Saltsburg, PA, the annual festival will begin on Friday, July 13th and will wind up on Saturday, with more than 15 bands performing. Xander is scheduled to play on Saturday at 6pm. Other bands include Chip Dimonick, Dimwit and Five Alarm Flood. For more information, visit www.rockforlifeconcert.com.
The mission of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is to advance cures, and means of prevention, for pediatric catastrophic diseases through research and treatment. Consistent with the vision of founder Danny Thomas, no child is denied treatment based on race, religion or a family's ability to pay.
It is the mission of Rock for Life to provide financial support to needy individuals residing in Western PA who are suffering from life threatening diseases. Rock for Life sponsors music festivals and other music-related and general fundraising events to raise the monies necessary to support its purpose. Recipient(s)
of support will be determined annually, utilizing selection criteria guidelines as adopted by the Directors. Financial support may be provided to a needy individual or a non-profit organization that supports the mission of Rock for Life.
