May 16, 2012 - PRLog -- WARMINSTER, PA – (May 16, 2012) – Mixing the best of today’s hottest new music artists and pro sports athletes, Philadelphia pop-punk band Robots and Racecars will be playing during the Journeys Backyard BBQ tour at King of Prussia mall with Circa Survive and Marinas Trench.

On Saturday, June 9, 2012 Journeys Backyard BBQ will be hosting a free event at the King of Prussia Mall, featuring live performances from 3 of Philadelphia’s favorite bands: Robots and Racecars, First Things First and Amyst. Throughout the day, local indie alt, emo and pop-punk bands compete during the event with the winner judged by the audience via text message voting. Many of the breakthrough bands featured on this tour go on to hot careers and new recording contracts.

“We’re really excited to be a part of the Journeys Backyard BBQ and I know our local fans will be out in force to cheer for us,” said, Jordan Riffe lead guitar player for Robots and Racecars.

The Journeys Backyard BBQ will also feature athlete demos from the Vans BMX team and the Metal Mulisha FMX team. Doylestown, PA band Circa Survive is scheduled to headline the event with support from Marinas Trench. The event will be highlighted by an opening live performance from Robots and Racecars at 12:00 pm. There will also be free giveaways from brands like Skullcandy, Osiris, Puma and more.

About Robots and Racecars
Based out of Philadelphia, PA, Robots and Racecars isn't your typical pop-punk band. While you get the typical pop-punk fast, loud and in-your-face sound, they strive to break away from the cookie-cutter mold that fans on the genre have come to accept. Lyrically, the members (Matthew Herb, Frankie Marsh, Nicholas Reed and Jordan Riffe) write about their nerd lifestyles which include video games, fantasies and zombies. Musically, they combine great melodies, harmonized vocals, tight solos, thumping bass and pounding drums. Mix both parts together and it\'s no surprise why they are quickly gaining a national audience, sponsorships and sharing the stage with the likes of The Ataris, Big D & The Kids Table and Hawthorne Heights (to name a few). One listen to Robots and Racecars and you'll be hooked.
