She reviews abnormal breast reports, recommends a plan of care, and provides follow up breast exams and procedures at no charge to the patient. “Providing comprehensive care for the women facing a breast health issue without a healthcare payer source is important to me,” says Beatty. Wanda Lefler-Weart of the Barrier Island Free Medical Clinic states, “The staff at the Barrier Island Free Medical Clinic is excited about this grant and we are most appreciative of Dr. Beatty’s contributions to women and their families. It does take all of us to demonstrate that all women are worthy of care. Dr. Beatty not only understands the concept but practices it.” The Barrier Islands Free Medical Clinic’s mission to understand and serve the health and wellness needs of the medically underserved and their households, who live or work on Johns, Wadmalaw or James Islands.
