May 15, 2012 - PRLog -- Hollywood, CA – May 15, 2012 – Hollywood’s sightseeing options changed forever today with the debut of the Bikes and Hikes LA/Madame Tussauds Hollywood On Location bike tour. City Councilman Tom LaBonge, who of course, arrived via bike, presented an official proclamation to the assembled Madame Tussauds Hollywood and Bikes and Hikes LA execs and the crowd packing Hollywood Boulevard. His enthusiasm for this new venture was contagious judging by his remarks: “biking through a city is the best way to truly experience its people, architecture and attractions.”

“Why be part of LA’s traffic when you can pedal right past it?” asks http://BikesandHikesLA.com founder Danny Roman. He’s bullish on the prospects of expanding his successful eco-touring company into the heart of Hollywood.  “Everywhere else in the world, city bike tours are the rule, not the exception. We’re thrilled to team with Madame Tussauds Hollywood as doing so brings us even closer to those visitors eager to explore LA.” He adds: “Our goal is to get them closer to the sites than any other touring option available today.”

Teenagers from the non-profit organization, It’s Time 4 Kids, took the first On Location guided tour and pedaled through the storied streets of Hollywood and then enjoyed Priority Access to Madame Tussauds Hollywood after the tour. The launch synched up with the jam-packed schedule of Bike Week LA which concludes this Friday.

The On Location tour leaves three times a day from Madame Tussauds Hollywood and includes a top-of-the-line hybrid bike, safety helmet and some refreshing water and Priority Access to Madame Tussauds Hollywood. It’s a fantastic excursion for both native Angelenos and those visiting from out of town. Sightseeing highlights include: Hollywood & Highland/The Walk of Fame, the Capitol Records Building, the Hollywood Forever Cemetery, the Farmers Market/Grove, Pan Pacific Park/ Holocaust Museum, La Brea Tar Pits, LACMA, Paramount Pictures, CBS Television City,  Larchmont Village, Hancock Park, Melrose Avenue, and so much more. The 12-mile tour lasts about 2.5 hours and is an easy ride, perfect for anyone comfortable on a bike.
