May 15, 2012 - PRLog -- London based wine agency Namaste Wines are delighted to announce the exclusive launch of ‘Anokhee’ a range of Premium wines from Vallonné Vineyards, India’s premier boutique winery at the upcoming London Intl Wine Fair.

Anokhee, in Hindi, symbolizes all that is unique and rare. In this bouquet we present a lively Chenin Blanc, a crisp Sauvignon Blanc, a rounded Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve and our flagship brand, the full-bodied, barrel-aged Merlot.

Anokhee truly embodies the exotic flavours of India, the land of all things exotic is set to bring a new dimension to the discerning British and global wine connoisseur. Our winemaker Marie Barbe who has worked in France, Chile, Russia and, now India, and combines Old and New World techniques to craft these wines.

Vallonné’s vineyards are raised on virgin land and irrigated with clear mountain water the
terroir, characterised by gravelly soil and sunny days and cool nights, enhances the aromas and lends overall maturity to the grapes. The 21-acre sprawling estates rest on the gentle southern slopes of the Sahyadri ranges in Kavnai village in Nashik, 156 km north east of Mumbai.

The winery is ecologically sensitive with cellars tucked away 20 feet below ground to protect the wines from heat and light. Our wines are matured in the cool environs of the barrel room in oak casks imported from a premier cooperage in France. The process is completely mechanised with all equipment sourced from French market leaders Bucher Vaslin and Gai.

True to its origin, Anokhee beautifully represents the essence of India. Created with the
kalamkari stroke, a traditional block-print art form, our logo reflects this rich Indian craft.
With our range of wines, we pay tribute to the mythical samudra manthan or churning of the milky oceans that led to the creation of the world in ancient Indian mythology. The labels depict two of the 14 ratnas or gems that emerged during this celestial churning—the regal airavat (elephant) and the parijat (flowering tree). Our wines are as unique and precious as these heavenly ratnas.

Barry Dass owner of Namaste wines: “Namaste was set up with a mission to offer only the
finest wines from India to the UK audience, “we believe that in the coming years Indian
wines will build a reputation for it self to be able to hold its head high and sit amongst the

Vineyards incl Founder and CEO Shailendra Pai and winemaker Marie Barbe.
