May 14, 2012 - PRLog -- HillbilliesVille Country FEST will run from June 7 to 10 in Lebanon, with successful billboard artist and country legend Ken Mellons now confirmed as one of the headline acts.

“My phone has literally been running hot with bands and artists wanting to be part of this exciting inaugural event,’’ said HillbilliesVille founder Kevin Kiepe.

“Every call is the same – traditional country music has been effectively homeless for many years but has now found a friend in Lebanon, Tennessee,’’ he said.

“It is not an exaggeration to say that traditional country music has been virtually homeless and that HillbilliesVille has taken it in off the streets to provide a permanent home in Lebanon Tennessee.

“We knew Lebanon was the right community for our venture and the artists have responded very positively. Two Country FEST performers have just moved to the city and we have even set up our fledgling global office here.”

HillbilliesVille Country FEST 2012 will be Tennessee’s most authentic celebration of traditional country music, with dozens of emerging artists performing on five “front-porch” stages.

The event will take place at Fiddler’s Grove on the Wilson Country Fair Grounds and tickets are already on sale.

Lebanon City Mayor Philip Craighead said HillbilliesVille Country FEST was a welcome addition to the city and could become a new tradition for Wilson County. “We are a progressive city always looking for new opportunities and this festival seems to have struck a real chord with the country music industry,’’ Mayor Craighead said.

Mr Kiepe today confirmed that Ken Mellons – a Tennessee native best known for his hit “Jukebox Junkie” – would perform on Friday, 9 June, and make personal meet and greet appearances on the front port of the Fiddler’s Grove General Store at scheduled time throughout the 4 days and nights.

“HillbilliesVille is about real country music for real country music fans,’’ Mellons said. “I don’t even know why they still call some of the music played today, country,’’ he said.
“This festival is all about keeping real country music alive and providing a genuine alternative to the electric guitar crunch tones playing on every other so-called country music channel.’’

HillbilliesVille is the brainchild of emerging new media group, Global Village Entertainment.

The 2012 HillbilliesVille Country FEST has already signed accomplished writer, producer and artist T Jae Christian, and will showcase a raft of young traditional country musicians.
Only 2,000 tickets will be available for each day of Country FEST. Single day tickets will cost $15 and event passes allowing access on all four days will cost just $39. Discount tickets for seniors, veterans and college students with photo ID will be priced at $10 for one day and event passes at $19. Tickets can be booked at www.yourticketbox.com and more information is available at www.hillbilliesville.com/box-office/country-fest.
