CIMS to Support Rubber Manufacturers Association's Tire Safety Week, June 3-9

Focus for all vehicles is tire safety -- including getting tires registered
May 13, 2012 - PRLog -- AKRON, Ohio, May 14, 2012 – With summer rapidly approaching, CIMS, the world’s largest independent tire registration group, is supporting the Rubber Manufacturers Association’s annual effort to increase tire safety awareness during Tire Safety Week, June 3-9.

“With fuel prices and the cost-of-living rising it’s important to keep your car or truck in top, efficient condition, including maintaining safe tires,” said Susan Kruder, president of Akron-based CIMS Tire Registration.  “And when you mention tires, it’s important to ensure that they are also registered in case of a safety recall.”

CIMS is joining with the Rubber Manufacturer’s Association during the week of June 3-9 in reminding motorists, the media and the general public about the importance of driving with safe tires on all vehicles.  During that week, CIMS will send out reminders to its clients – and reference the RMA’s commitment – on the importance of educating their customers about tire safety.

“We believe the RMA and the tire industry have a solid commitment to auto and tire safety, and we also believe that tire registration is an integral part of that process so that consumers can be quickly notified in the event of a safety recall,” Kruder said.  “It just makes good sense to reaffirm one’s commitment to safety as often as possible, and the RMA’s Tire Safety Week helps us all focus on this…It makes the consumer more confident of the product, more trusting of the seller and, ultimately, a safer driver.”

During Tire Safety Week, CIMS will also remind motorists that tire registration is a mandate of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, NHTSA.
