-- Thamserku, a top business group that offers travel oriented services in Nepal recently conducted National Open Climbing competition in Kathmandu. Thamserku has been conducting climbing competition in Nepal for quite some years now.
This 5th National Open climbing competition saw dozens of adventure enthusiasts interested in wall climbing. People from all age groups participated in the competition. The press meeting for the 5th National Open Climbing Competition was held at Le Sherpa Restaurant.
When asked about the event, Executive Director of Thamserku, Mr. Namgyal Sherpa said, “We are very delighted about the success of the event. We have been conducting National Open Climbing Competition in Nepal for five years now and each year, we are seeing considerable growth in the number of participants. We have participants belonging to various age groups and nationalities. We have plans on making this event even more extensive in the coming years”
The main objective of the event was to promote Adventure Sports Tourism in Nepal. Adventure sports like bungy jumping, paragliding, kayaking etc. are garnering the attention of many domestic and international tourists. Adventure sports such as wall and rock climbing are also gaining traction in the recent years.
Held at Pasang Lhamu Sports Climbing center, the event was solely sponsored by Thamserku Group, and organized by Pasang Lhamsu Mountaineering Foundation (PLMF). TAAN, NTB and NMA were among other major associates. Events like this surely help to boost Adventure tourism and attract adventure enthusiasts.
