Acclaim Legal Services Participates in 3rd Annual Consumer Bankruptcy Institute

May 11, 2012 - PRLog -- The Institute of Continuing Legal Education (ICLE), a leading provider legal education in Michigan, has chosen Attorney Christopher Jones of Acclaim Legal Services as a presenter at their 3rd Annual Consumer Bankruptcy Institute.

ICLE harnesses the wisdom of Michigan’s leading practitioners to provide how-to solutions and practical tools to its members.  ICLE seminars address the practice problems and challenges that Michigan lawyers face.  They are presented by acclaimed Michigan lawyers and nationally renowned experts.

On May 11, 2012, Attorney Chris Jones, Managing Attorney at Acclaim Legal Services will be joining other experts to discuss how to handle real property in bankruptcy proceedings.  Based on Attorney Jone’s extensive experience in this field, he will provide insight on:
•   Understanding how to handle complex property-related issues in bankruptcy.
•   Determining if condominium association fees are dischargeable in bankruptcy.
•   Compare and contrast “cramdowns” in Chapter 13 and Chapter 11 cases.
•   How to transfer property in a bankruptcy.
•   Implications and impact of recent state court decisions, including the recent MERS case.

Christopher W. Jones has specialized in representing debtors in both Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 consumer bankruptcy cases since 2005 when he joined Acclaim Legal Services.
