Chevrolet Dealer Serving Tyler Awarded "Crystal Pineapple Award"

May 10, 2012 - PRLog -- Your Chevrolet Dealer Serving Tyler, McKaig Chevrolet Buick (link: http://www.mckaig.net ) has been presented the "Crystal Pineapple Award" from the Junior League of Longview, signifying that McKaig is their business of the year.



McKaig Chevrolet Buick is proud to help support and sponsor the people of Longview, Tyler and its surrounding communities. The Junior League of Longview is an organization of women committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women and improving communities through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. 




It has had a major impact in all of Tyler (along with the Junior League of Tyler) and all of East Texas reducing poverty and increasing family well-being and education.




Last summer McKaig hosted a Duck Commander/Buck Commander event at the Maude Cobb Convention Center for the Junior League, and raised over $49,000. Here is the official statement from the Junior League:




"The recipient of this award has been in the East Texas area since 1931. They have found creative ways for marketing and continuing the growth of their business in an overall harder economic time. They have always been supporters of the Junior League through our Funding campaign and through service as members. Little did they know when they approached us this summer about holding a joint event, did they anticipate the way we like to hold functions with lots of questions, designated tasks, lists, BUDGETS, the full affair and one cannot forget the must...decorations. I think that is what could have thrown them for a loop...decorations? For an outdoor hunting event? Well, okey they said, and we asked for our budget in true Junior League fashion.




These men were an absolute pleasure to work with through the short 6-8 week planning process and we did it. The Duck and Buck Commander event in August, held close to 500 guests at Maude Cobb complete with dinner catered by Bodacious BBQ, silent and live auctions, Game Wardens and other outdoor venues to visit and of course, the presentation of a new generosity, foresight and teamwork planning, we raised over $49,000 of which all was donated to the Junior League of Longview. We are pleased to honor you with the Crystal Pineapple Award for your dedication to the community and support of our League."
