The informational blogging market is still a relatively new one, but with niche websites popping up for nearly every human interest, it's already become a very competitive one. The hobby and industry surrounding reef aquariums is one that has been permeated from the beginning with reputable, well informed websites that leave little room for competition, however, Marine Engineers has still managed to find room within for growth.




The beginning of the site in 2010 saw little in the way of traffic and ability to get the news when it happens, but 2012 has been a complete turn around. Marine Engineers has gone from about 10,000 viewers to over 30,000 during the first half of 2012, and growth is still continuing to accelerate. These numbers are still less than 1/5th of the entrenched competition, but with increased site features, marketing and better SEO optimization, growth is expected to continue.




Advertising rates on Marine Engineers (http://marine-engineers.org/advertise/) have been kept low during the build out process of the site and the companies public face, but as more readers continue to frequent the site, they are expected to rise. 2012 will be the year of reader growth, but 2013 will expectedly be the year of revenue growth.
