One Voice to drum up beautiful melody of love & youth empowerment with this month's trip to Africa.

May 10, 2012 - PRLog -- OneVoice (http://www.onevoicecommunity.org) gears up for its highly anticipated trip to Africa on May 25th,  excited for the prospects of an immeasurably successful and powerful visit. One Voice, founded Robbie Schaefer, lead singer of the VA indie sensation, Eddie From Ohio, is set to promote peace and cultural awareness through music and multimedia expression. The results may not be tangible- initially. Striking the match within a child, empowering a community, yields the sustainable results that an entire village of people starving for grace need.




The Idea? On Friday, May 25th, this strong team of seven departs for Kenya, spending a week at KCE Primary School, ready to impart strength and collective communal support to these youth. This will then be followed by the homecoming journey to the Sheperds Jr. School in Tanzania, and the Brain Tree School in Uganda- where it all began in 2009. With each visit, OneVoice will continue to “…cultivate and illuminate the creative sparkle of every child; fostering global sister-school relationships based upon musical sharing, promoting the resulting collaboration to a worldwide audience, engaging in education and outreach programs to advance the broader community,” according to Schaefer.

The uniqueness of OneVoice comes simply from the diverse team behind the organization; as Schaefer brings an uncanny empathy and passion for serving the globe with a heart mirrored beautifully in his own words: “I am reminded that everything is born of either Love or Fear, and that fear will only sow seeds of fear. Love--and only love--will sow seeds of love. OneVoice must always work from a place of Love and honor the dignity of those we serve. That's my promise to you, but more importantly, my renewed promise to myself.”

Robbie Schaefer has been a professional musician for over 20 years, touring and recording with the VA based folk-rock band Eddie From Ohio, as well as on his own. He has lived in India, Switzerland, and Virginia, which explains his love for chai tea, chocolate, and tri-cornered hats. He is currently the Music Director for Kids Place Live, the children’s programming channel on Sirius XM Radio. OneVoice’s 2012 project will take the team to Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda – where they will work with school children to create a multi-media art project that will be showcased this fall in Washington, DC.
