May 10, 2012 - PRLog -- Miller Homes is tasking children across the region to draw or paint a portrait of The Queen to celebrate her 60th year on the throne.

Throughout May, entries can be dropped into any of Miller Homes’ 10 marketing suites across the region, where they will be displayed in very special portrait galleries over the Jubilee Bank Holiday weekend (Saturday 2 – Tuesday 5 June).  A £20 book voucher and family ticket to Ripley Castle is up for grabs for each of the winners in three age group categories – four to five, six to eight and nine to ten.

Budding artists can enter individually or through their school, with the added chance of winning £50 of art supplies for their school.  Competition packs have been sent to local schools and individuals can collect an entry form from any of the Miller Homes developments throughout the region.  Alternatively, entries can simply be submitted on a single A4 piece of paper, with name, age and contact details provided.

Steve McElroy, Sales Director at Miller Homes said, “We’re very excited to be launching our fun Diamond Jubilee art competition and can’t wait to see the entries. With celebrations at the centre of this royal occasion, we couldn’t let the Diamond Jubilee pass without making a splash the children’s portraits of The Queen will be the icing on the cake for us.

“As one of the judges, I will be looking for colourful entries that have something different to make them stand out. With the Diamond Jubilee, amongst other landmark events, 2012 is a very special year and we hope the entries will reflect that. At Miller Homes we aim to make 2012 a memorable year, not least by helping Yorkshire’s househunters find their dream home.”
