May 9, 2012 - PRLog -- Australia is welcoming the winter, however the sun is still quite strong.  In northern hemisphere, the weather is getting warmer and warmer, you can say summer has officially arrived already.  For most people, especially beauty conscious women - love summer, but also worry about the exposure to the sun. We interviewed Olivia, the blogger of "Wrinkle Mania" (http://wrinklemania.com) on this topic.

Q: What do you think of people's sun protection routine these days?
A:  The sun is the No.1 enemy for our skin...long time exposure to the sun will increase the development of wrinkles & worse skin diseases.  In Asia, all the girls like to be 'white', so they always use umbrella outside, no matter where they go. Actually in that way, they protect their skin quite well.  In Australia, most people like 'tan'. We use umbrella only when rains. People don't think 5-min outdoor doing chores will do any harm, but they are easy to get sun burn.  People spend long time sun bathing to achieve the tan skin color. The government has done a lot to promote using sun lotion to protect people from skin cancer. I think it's getting better, now we are more conscious to do the sun block routine before going out in the sun.

Q: I noticed in your blog, you wrote a few posts about using sunscreen, why you are so interested?
A: Because I am a skincare blogger (hehe)! Sun exposure is really bad for skin, a lot of younger girls had more wrinkles than me because they don't put on sunscreen, nor wear sunglasses. Some friends got skin cancer early stage, they just went to hospital to get the part of skin removed. When they joked about it, I felt so sad. Although it didn't sound like a big surgery, but it could spread all over body. I do hope people can pay more attention, not only for skin, but for their lives.

Q: You mentioned in the pre-interview about 'SPF' food, what are they?
A:  apart from using sunscreen every day, there are a lot of food source has natural SPF ability, such as V β.  If we eat or drink them often, our body & skin will work better against UV light.  For example Yellow, Red color Fruit/Veggie, such as mango, papaya, tomato. Actually tomato is the best SPF food, better to eat cooked tomato. Kiwi fruit, strawberry and oranges, they have high vitamin C, good for skin. And green tea, great anti-oxidant, drink two cups of green tea every day will set you on a right path.

Q: That's so interesting. I never thought that food can work like that. Thanks for having this interview and share so much useful information.
A:  My pleasure.
