May 8, 2012 - PRLog -- The Sigil Editor is a sophisticated tool for creating files in the epub format for distribution in several ebook formats. Using the Sigil Editor you can import, create and edit xhtml documents into clean epubs ready for distribution or conversion to another reader format.
While understanding the xhtml code that defines an epub file is good, one of the benefits of Sigil is that you do not need a thorough understanding to create not only serviceable documents, but documents that are good looking and easy to read. It contains not only an XHTML code editor, but also a “What You See Is What You Get” or WYSIWYG editor. Most basic documentation conversion and creation can be done within the WYSIWYG editor.
This report will guide you through the process of creating an epub file from an HTML file. The same process is used for a text file, although you may need to perform more manual formatting if you are using an unformatted text file. We provide examples of importing your file, changing a heading style, creating a table of contents, adding images and a cover, and defining types of files contained in the publication file (semantics).
