DeZign Intervention presents "Save The Bees" by fashion designer Michael Jerome Francis

May 6, 2012 - PRLog -- DeZign Intervention (DZI), an innovative networking movement, is pleased to present SAVE THE BEES a fashion exploration by environmentally-conscious demi couturier Michael Jerome Francis on Wednesday, May 23rd 6 - 9pm at the stylish Brooklyn Terrace (Brooklyn, New York). The evening is sponsored in part by Chashama, a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit geared towards nurturing artists and will include a special acoustic performance by soulful singer/songwriter ESNAVI.  DJ Kamala will frame the evening’s festivities with her musical stylings on the ones and twos. Fashion model Kahshanna Evans who recently appeared in BET Network’s 2012 Rip the Runway will be among the beauties leading spectators on this enchanted journey.

Michael Jerome Francis
Michael Jerome Francis is a New York-based artist with a fetish for fashion. His brand of demi couture embraces an environmentally-conscious philosophy by producing locally; re-imagining nontraditional materials and incorporating craftsmanship that preserve and celebrate ancestral traditions - the result: high quality garments that are both raw and romantic. With passion and focus Michael launched his career as a freelance fashion designer and artist in New York in 2000 – assisting on special projects with Chanel couture, Saks Fifth Avenue and Henri Bendel, NY, as well as maintaining and serving a growing list of private clients. In addition to his freelance fashion design work, Michael has designed costume for Ensemble Youkali’s opera – The Rake’s Progress and presented his designs at Renaissance Fine Art New York, NY . In 2011 Michael's designs were presented at Bloomingdale’s SoHo – The Green Shows Eco-lux Pop-Up Shop and the 2011 Caribbean International Fashion Week (CIFW) in New York, NY. He was also featured in a 7-page editorial in the 2011 Designer Issue of Profiles98 – a style, culture and global Caribbean magazine and his designs were seen on Vogue.it, AP Images and Patrick McMullan's websites.

ESNAVI
Eclectic, Soulful, Natural, Authentic, Vivacious, and Intriguing – E S N A V I {Es-Nah-V}.  A singer/songwriter with a voice of undeniable soul, lyrics of thought provoking truth, and music that harmoniously blends everything in between. With the release of her debut album, Exit E, a 16-song musical journey inspired by love, society, and real life, her mission to enlighten the world through her music has begun. Her first single, Unexpected Love, reached the Top 40 on the Urban Adult Contemporary Charts shortly after its release and remained in the Top 40 Urban AC Charts for over 10 weeks. The video for the single has remained in rotation on VH1 Soul & Centric since its release and was selected as one of Centric Hot 10 Countdown picks. Now with the release of her second single, Morning Dew, Esnavi is on the brink of becoming the next big thing to hit the music industry.  New York audiences were soon captivated with performances at historic music venues such as CBGB’s, Joe’s Pub, Village Underground, The Groove, Crash Mansion, The Shrine, and S.O.B.’s. She appeared on BET’s The BETJ List as a featured unsigned artist and on MTV’s reality show The City. In 2012, she has performed at the world famous Apollo, performed on Good Day New York, performed at BAMcafé Live (Brooklyn Academy of Music) for an overcrowded room that had a line so long people were turned away, the IZOD Center and secured a music licensing deal with H&M, Old Navy, Ann Taylor, Nine West, Arden B. and Abercrombie & Fitch.  She will also be one of the faces for Alison Raffael Cosmetics beauty campaign, a cosmetic line that will be carried in Duane Reade stores nationwide, launching in Puerto Rico this month.

DJ Kamala
DJ and music stylist Kamala has professionally provided sounds for over a decade, playing to diverse audiences at many of New York City's best venues, underground parties, and special events. A native New Yorker of Afro-Latin descent—with a Sanskrit name—Kamala embraces cultural ambiguity, a global perspective, and a universal sound. Heavily influenced by music at a young age and endowed with a rich musical legacy (she is the daughter of jazz saxophonist Carter Jefferson), Kamala also credits her multicultural Chelsea upbringing and years of downtown nightclubbing for the flavorful edge to her musical direction. Kamala is best known for her deep soulful-house sets, but her tastes and programming span decades and genres, from Nu-Soul, Global Lounge, soul, R&B, and Disco classics to hip-hop, Dub, Afrobeat, Salsa, classic and contemporary pop, and beyond.

DeZign Intervention

Brooklyn Terrace, Brooklyn's newest rooftop lounge offers chic décor with modern style. Located in Downtown Brooklyn it provides panoramic views of Brooklyn, the Statue of Liberty, Verrazano Bridge, and Ellis Island.
