New Techniques Abound For Facelifts

Understanding the new techniques to be used for facelift procedures.
May 3, 2012 - PRLog -- Many plastic surgeons agree that the time is now ripe to let go of highly invasive techniques for facelifts. Many of them have found that there are great new techniques to get this kind of work done, and that there is no longer a need to cut long lines in a person’s face just to get the job done. This news opens a new page in the way that plastic surgery is practiced in and around the country, and could very well lead to the forefront of a new revolution in the way facelifts are being done.

These new ideas for this type of surgery which promises to make the whole operation easier and better in every way possible. There are procedures such as the 360 facelift, where the surgeon would make small incisions in the face to insert the implants on the face. This would require multiple procedures to complete, but the healing process will be much shorter. According to doctors at, “This is a great new twist in the manner in which these procedures are done. This will hopefully usher in a new way of practicing facelift surgery in a less invasive manner.”

These new procedures should be taken with a grain of salt though. It was released by the aesthetic surgery board that there can be serious complications that could come with a botched facelift. It was said that patients could risk things like nerve damage and brain damage with this procedure. There are even some cases that a botched facelift has caused death.

"There's no such thing as surgery without risk," said Dr. Foad Nahai, president of the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, "And I always tell my patients, 'Please forget the word cosmetic. Remember the word surgery.' And what I do is surgery. And surgery is serious,"
